Shoes

What shoes are good for babies with fat feet?

Not just wide feet, my son has fat feet, he is 5 1/2 months old, he is big and tall for his age. 28 inches and 22lbs. He can barely fit in his infant carrier anymore. His feet are fat at the top and almost every shoe we have tried won't go on. I know he doesn't have to wear shoes yet, but just wondering.

  1. fat baby shoes.
  2. They dont need shoes at that age... its better if you keep him in socks or barefoot...
  3. FAT Shoes.
  4. Stride rite has shoes custom made for wide feet
  5. He can be large, but don't overfeed. He will develop a lot of fatty cells that will carry for life.
  6. I eventually bought crocs since my sons feet were so fat nothing seemed to fit him well. They are also cheap and that's good since their feet grow so fast.
  7. echo shoes :) EDIT: idk why i got a thumbs down echo baby shoes are really for wide feet
  8. pedi ped
  9. Pediped shoes. i had the same problem, and the pediped shoes are supposed to be ultra flexible, alost like your child is barefoot.... but not. anyway they are comfortable on my son's feet, and he is 18 months old, and i have been buying the since he was about 6 months pediped.com
  10. i know that Vans are wider than most other shoes and have lots of room inside. otherwise, maybe look at a bigger size shoe..?
  11. You're not supposed to put babies in shoes until after their first birthday...they dont need shoes!
  12. try baby phat shoes ... a freind of mine uses them for her baby
  13. if he's not walking yet I wouldnt worry about shoes for him.
  14. Have you tried robeez? They are made of leather and it stretches, they are like slippers and are supposed to be really good for babies. I use them with both my kids and love them.
  15. you should get those shoes that don't tie but have the velcro straps on them they strech payless and kids footlocker the carry them and maybe some baby booties the strech ones
  16. talk to your doctor and see if he actually has medically flat feet, and if he does he can get you in touch with a foot specialist who will be able to assist you in proper shoes for him.
  17. Actually I do not know how young they make these shoes for, but I would suggest getting baby or kids skater shoes such as Etnies or DC's...They are wide shoes all around. And they are very comfortable. :) I have a pair myself I do not have "fat" feet so to speak, but they are wide because I am flat footed. They are like walking on pillows! :D
  18. It is best to not put shoes on a child until they are walking well, and even then only when they are out places so they can walk without worrying about injury. The way babies toes curl and push up when first learning to walk is a natural reflex meant to strengthen the leg muscles, with shoes it restricts that.
  19. Crocs, Robeez, Wiggees Try Pipsqueakers.com.
  20. Stride Rite will custom fit shoes for him. They are a very good quality and are not that expensive. Technically he doesn't need shoes until he tries to start walking....so keep Stride Rite in mind for around 10-12 months old and on. They are usually in the malls.
  21. Try the BONDS socks with the sports shoe drawn on them. They look like little runners and even have laces, they will stretch to fit any foot. and are soooo cute.
  22. Have you tried Robeez? (I think baby feet are cute... skip the shoes! Or get some really cute socks:)
  23. Emma is about the same size. She wears a 2W. We actually got them from KMart after going to a shoe store and they said they would have to order her shoes. I was buying her 3's, but we stepped down a size and went wider.
  24. no shoes at all, just socks
  25. Stride Rite is Awsome. They not only have wide but extra wide as well. The shoes last and they are great when it comes to the staff assistance in fitting your baby in the store. They are very knowladgeable in wich shoe your baby needs at the verious stages of development.....and if you really want your baby to wear shoes even though he doesn't have to...go for it!!! He will be less likely to try to take them off when the time comes. My boy had soft nikes when he was 5 weeks and now at 4 1/2 months...he loves his shoes.
  26. In the summer I wouldn't even bother with shoes. I would get him just crib shoes my son was a real chub at that age and they worked for him. Side note: you will probably want to take him out of the infant carrier....check the specifications but it sounds like he outgrew it. my son did at 4 months.
  27. Crocs. That is all my nephew was able to wear. Trust me look into it. I know they are a bit pricey, but his fat little footsies would fit into nothing else. the link to see them is at the bottom. :) Good luck with your little blessing
