Which color of casual shoes (brown or black) go better with blue jeans? How about with tan khakis?

When I say "casual shoes" I am referring to something like Born, Merrell, or Doc Martens.

3. Since they are both primary colors: brown especially with kaki. It almost looks off if someone wears brown and black together.

5. Brown with both. Unless the Jean or khakis are light and then Black looks better. Take a look at the thread on the jeans, try and work with that. If the thread is a brown, or tan, go brown. If the thread is blue, white, or black, go black. That usually indicates the wash of the jeans and should help match colors. Hope this helps.
