Shoes

Can someone use golf shoes as casual shoes?

Could I use golf shoes, like the NIKE SP8 TW shoes, without the spikes as casual shoes to go out somewhere?

  1. Sure, why not!!! As long as you un-screw the spikes off.
  2. Sure you could, but if folks see the bottom of your shoes, they will think it odd.
  3. My dad takes the spikes out of his and you can't even tell.
  4. Why not? When I am going to the range or course,I wear my Mizuno dimple sole shoes for convenience to save having to change into them as soon as I get there. They are a smart looking pair of lace ups, comfortable to wear. I carry a pair of sandals or shoes, dependant on the season in the bag to change into after my practice, or a round. It would certainly not be anywhere near as strange as some of the things I have seen folk wearing, that is for sure! Go for it!
  5. Yes. You might want to take the spikes off because they can be slippery on certain hard surfaces.
  6. Of course! But when you take the spikes off you run the risk of ruining the threads and not being able to put spikes back in them. If you ever intend on using them for golf again, you should replace the spikes with street caps, made by Champ. They are designed to fit into the spike threads, but have rubber tread to make your golf shoes look more like street shoes, and you can switch back to spikes whenever you hit the course, with no worries about ruining the threads!
